John Tippets served as President/CEO of the American Airlines Federal Credit Union (from 1991 to 2008) and as President of the North Island Credit Union (from 2009 to 2012). During his Credit Union career, John served the Credit Union movement in numerous roles with CUNA, NAFCU, the Texas Credit Union League, the Federal Reserve and other related entities.

He has been a Credit Union Consultant and a frequent Speaker for Credit Union forums on Leadership Principles.  John holds an MBA from UCLA (1967) and has had a 50+ year career in management, with 40 years at Executive levels.

John was born in Anchorage, Alaska and he is the author of the book Hearts of Courage, a miraculous story of his father as a 29-day (Jan/Feb, 1943) survivor of an airplane crash in SE Alaska. He has done presentations of that event for numerous conferences and groups across the country.

John and his wife, Bonnie, live in Colleyville, Texas. They are parents of three sons and a daughter and they have fourteen grandchildren.
